The Works of William Perkins

Fidei vita vera vita - The true life is the life of faith

This web site is dedicated to the promotion of the works of one of the greatest of the English Puritans, William Perkins of Cambridge (1558- 1602).

Perkins was known as "The Calvin of England", and his works went through many editions and were translated into many European languages; yet they have never been reprinted in full in English since 1635. Here, as the Lord wills,  we seek to amend this.

Due to copyright restrictions we are not allowed to have the Complete Works of Perkins available on this web site for free download, but you can purchase them in pdf form on a CD for approx. £10.00 plus postage from the email address on this link (not connected with this site).

This biography is taken from "Lives of the Puritans (Vol 2)" by Benjamin Brook, published in 1813.

The Works Project

The main purpose behind this web site is the republishing of the Complete Works of Perkins, which have not been available since 1635. In order to do this, the text needs to be typed in manually from the original books, proof-read and then put into a format suitable for sending to a printer.

As individual books from the Works become available, it is hoped that they will be freely displayed in this section as they are typed in, so the reader may come to know and love the works of this greatest of all English puritans.
